RESOLUTION NO. 6487
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE PROPOSED RATES AND
CHARGES TO SUBSCRIBERS OF COMMUNITY CABLEVISION
COMPANY
WHEREAS, Community Cablevision Company, a division of
The Irvine Company, a West Virgina corporation, hereinafter re-
ferred to as "Community Cablevision ", has applied to the City
Council for a franchise to provide community antenna television
service in the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 1196
granting such a franchise to Community Cablevision subject to the
filing of a written notice of acceptance by the grantee; and
WHEREAS, Section 5.44.035 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that at the time of the granting of any community
antenna television franchise "the City Council shall establish or
approve all rates and charges allowable to grantee.... "; and
WHEREAS, Community Cablevision has submitted a proposed
rate schedule to the City Council which the Council finds accept-
able;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the following Rate Schedule for CATV Services
proposed by Community Cablevision is hereby approved by the City
Council:
RATE SCHEDULE FOR CATV SERVICES
A. Installation Charges for Normal Installations
The term "normal installation" shall mean any installa-
tion which requires not more than 150 feet of home drop
cable to a reasonable location for a service connection.
Installation charge for first outlet con-
nection up to two outlets $10.00
Installation of each new or additional
outlet 5.00
Relocation or reconnection of each outlet 5.00
Extended leads (providing an additional
15 feet of coaxial cable from wall plate
to TV receiver) 5.00
B. Installation Charges for Isolated Subscriber
The term "isolated subscriber installations" shall
mean any installation which requires more than 150 feet
of home drop cable to a reasonable location for a service
connection. Charges to isolated subscribers shall be
based upon the actual cost to Community Cablevision of -
making the installation. In cases where normal installa-
tion charges do not apply, Community Cablevision shall
so advise a potential subscriber before executing a CATV
rental agreement. In all such cases, a definite instal-
lation charge shall be specified in the agreement with
the subscriber.
C. Monthly Service Rental Charges
Service rental charge for first two sets $5.00
Service rental charge for each additional
set 1.00
Service rental charge for first two sets $3.00
Service rental charge for each additional
set 1.00
Service rental charge for one set
$5.00
Service rental charge for each additional
set 1.00

Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records of the
City of Newport Beach filed and maintained in my office, the foregoing
Resolution No. 6487 was duly and regularly adopted,
passed, and approved by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council held at the
regular meeting place thereof, on the 27th day of December
1966, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Rogers, Parsons, Marshall, Forgit, Shelton
