TITLE: First Look at City Hall Reuse Proposals (PA2012 -176)
3300 Newport Boulevard & 475 32nd Street
ABSTRACT:
On January 8, 2013, the City Council selected six qualified teams to prepare conceptual
development proposals for the old City Hall site. A Request for Proposals No. 13 -35
(RFP) was issued in January with proposals due on April 18, 2013. Each team will
present their conceptual development plan for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Receive presentations; and
2. Take public comment.
DISCUSSION:
Each team will have up to 20 minutes to present their conceptual development plan
followed by a question and answer session. After all teams have presented and
Council's questions are finished, public comment would be appropriate.
Each development proposal received will be made available at the City's website on
April 19, 2013 (barring technical difficulties) at:
http://www.newportbeachca.gov/CitVHalIReuse

Following the Study Session, staff will respond to Council's suggestions, review the
proposals in detail, conduct interviews with the teams as necessary, and return to the
City Council with suggestions at a future, noticed public meeting.
The agenda item has been noticed according to the Brown Act (72 hours in advance of
the meeting at which the City Council considers the item). A display advertisement
notifying the public of this meeting appeared in the Daily Pilot. Finally, notice was sent
by email to interested individuals.
