RESOLUTION NO. 6725
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING PARKING FEES AND
REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF CITY PARKING LOTS
WHEREAS, the City maintains and operates the following
parking lots-
and
1. The lot at the Corona del Mar State and City
Beach Park;
2. The lot on the Balboa Peninsula, southerly of
Ocean Front at Palm and Washington Streets,
commonly referred to as the Balboa Parking
Lot; and
3. The lot on 26th Street between Newport and
Balboa Boulevards, commonly referred to as
the 26th Street Parking Lots
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish regula-
tions and parking fees for the use of said parking lots-,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-
1. The City Manager shall determine the days on which
parking control shall be maintained and parking fees shall be
charged for the use of all City parking lots on the basis of his
evaluation of whether there is sufficient demand for the use of
said lots to justify providing a parking attendant or activating
an automatic parking gate.
2. For each day that parking control is maintained,
the following fees shall be charged for the use of said lots-
a, Corona del Mar State and City Beach Parke
(1) $1.00 per day on weekdays, for
vehicles other than buses.
(2) $1.50 per day on Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays, for vehicles other than
buses.
(3) $3.00 per day for buses.
b. Balboa Parking Lot:
(1) $ 25 per hour, with a maximum charge
of $.50 per day, on Mondays through
Fridays, except on holidays.
(2) $ 50 per hour, with a maximum charge of
$1.00 per day, on Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays.
(3) In order to encourage use of the Balboa
Parking Lot by persons shopping in the area, no
fee shall be charged for the first two hours of
parking upon the presentation of a validated
parking slip. Such validation must be by a
place of business in the vicinity of the lot and
in accordance with a validation plan which may
be established by the City Manager; provided,
however, that such plan shall provide that no
purchase shall be required to obtain the valida-
tion.
C. 26th Street Parking.Lot;
(1) $.50 per day on weekdays.
(2) $1.00 per day on Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays.
3. The City Manager is authorized to waive any of the
aforesaid fees established herein when a special event is being
held of a charitable or civic nature and it is in the best inter-
ests of the City and the general public that fees not be charged
for the use of any such parking lot in connection with said spe-
cial event.

filed and maintained in my office, the foregoing Resolution No. 6725 was
duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 11th day of March , 19685
by the following vote, to wit:
