HomeMy WebLinkAbout6732 - Temporary No-Parking Areas During Easter• INNE THS :mec 3/19/68 RESOLUTION No. 6732 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING CERTAIN TEMPORARY NO- PARKING AREAS DURING THE EASTER VACATION PERIOD WHEREAS, Section 120400160 of the Newport Beach Munic- ipal Code provides that the City Council may by resolution establish no- parking areas and, when appropriate signs or mark- ings are in place, no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in the no- parking area so established; and WHEREAS, certain areas hereinafter described are areas where parking should be prohibited as hereinafter provided, in order to facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards during the Easter Vacation period; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following de- scribed areas are hereby designated as no- parking areas every year from the day before Palm Sunday to the day after Easter Sunday, at the times indicated: At all times: Bayside Drive, both sides, from Marine Avenue to E1 Paseo Drive. Jamboree Road, both sides, from East Coast High- way to Back Bay Drive. Marine Avenue, west side, starting at a point 89 feet northerly of Balboa Avenue and extend- ing to Balboa Avenue. Marine Avenue, west side, starting at a point 95 feet northerly of Park Avenue and extending to Park Avenue. Marine Avenue, east side, starting at a point 72 feet southerly of Balboa Avenue and extend- ing to Balboa Avenue. Marine Avenue, east side, starting at a point 83 feet southerly of North Bay Alley and ex- tending to the alley. Main Street, both sides, between Balboa Boule- vard and Ocean Front and its extension to the foot of Balboa Piero Balboa Boulevard, south side starting at a point 63 feet westerly of Palm Street and ex- tending to Palm Street. Palm Street, west side, from Balboa Boulevard to Ocean Front. - 1N w; y Between the hours of 9 P.M. and 6 A.M.- The portions of Marine Avenue, both sides, between North Bay Front and Park Avenue, on Balboa Island, not hereinabove described. Between the hours of 2 P.M. and 2 A.M.: Balboa Boulevard, north side, between 15th and 21st Streets. . Newport Boulevard, east side, starting at a point 150 feet northerly of 21st Street and extending to 21st Street. Newport Boulevard southbound, west side, be- tween 26th and 28th Streets. Newport Boulevard southbound, east side, start- ing at a point 110 feet northerly of 26th Street and extending to 26th Street. Newport Boulevard, west side, from 26th Street to a point 181 feet southerly. Newport Boulevard northbound, west side, from 26th Street to a point 55 feet northerly. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city traffic engineer is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said areas to indicate parking is prohibited. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any existing regulations of the City which conflict with those established by this resolution shall be suspended every year from the day before Palm Sunday to the day after Easter Sunday.
