HomeMy WebLinkAbout6733 - Temporary One-Way Streets During EasterCJ -It THSomec 3/19/68 RESOLUTION NO. 6733 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING TEMPORARY ONE -WAY STREETS DURING THE EASTER VACATION PERIOD WHEREAS, Section 12 °52 °010 of the Newport Beach Munic- ipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this City designates any one -way street the City Traffic Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof, and Section 12,52 °020 of the Municipal Code provides that when signs are erected on any one -way street giving notice thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle in a direction contrary thereto; and WHEREAS, certain streets hereinafter described are streets which should be designated as one -way streets as herein- after provided, in order to facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards during the Easter Vacation period; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following- described streets are hereby designated as one -way streets every year from the day before Palm Sunday to the day after Easter Sunday as indicated- Main Street between Ocean Front and Balboa Boule- vard, north bound traffic only Palm Street between Balboa Boulevard and Ocean Front, south bound traffic only. Washington Street between Balboa Boulevard and Ocean Front, south bound traffic only. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said streets to indicate the above designations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any existing regulations of the City which conflict with those established by this reso- lution shall be suspended every year from the day before Palm Sunday to the day after Easter Sunday.
