2' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH PROTESTING THE INCREASE IN WATER
3 RATES BY THE BETROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT

51 WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Water District has by aesolu-
6 tion No. 6881 established rates for water sold and delivered by
The Metropolitan Water Distract; and
8 WHEREAS, said resolution provides for an increase in
9 rates for water used for agricultural purposes or groundwater
10 replenishment of $1.00 per acre foot but provides for an increase
11 of $3.00 per acre foot for water used for other purposes; and
12 WHEREAS, the Coastal Municipal Water District has
13 requested that they be advised if Resolution No. 6881 has any
14j application to water use by the City of Newport Beach;
1511 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
16 the City of Newport Beach that the Council protests the aforesaid
17 rate increase on the ground that it unfairly discriminates against
18 municipal water users.

duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 8th day of April , 1968,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Rogers, Parsons, Marshall, Gruber, Cook,
Forgit, Shelton
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
