A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT DEEDS CONVEYING EASEMENTS FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES TO THE CITY AND TO CONSENT TO THEIR
RECORDATION BY THE COUNTY RECORDER
WHEREAS, Section 27281 of the California Government Code
provides that a political corporation or governmental agency may
by resolution authorize an officer to accept and consent to the
recordation of deeds or grants conveying an interest in or ease-
ment upon real estate to a political corporation or governmental
agency for public purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to authorize the City
Manager to exercise authority to accept certain deeds or grants
conveying interests in real property to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE9 BE IT RESOLVED:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept deeds
or grants conveying easements for any public purposes to the
City, including any deed or grant dedicating or conveying vehicu-
lar access rights to the City, and he is also authorized to con-
sent to the recordation of any such deed or grant by the County
Recorder.
The foregoing authority shall not be deemed to authorize
the City Manager to accept fee simple interests in real property
on behalf of the City.
