RESOLUTION NO. 6778
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 5 OF RESOLUTION
N0. 6654 WHICH ESTABLISHED OFF- STREET PARKING
METER ZONES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION
OF PARKING METERS
WHEREAS, Chapter 12.44 of Title 12 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code establishes on- street parking meter zones and sets
the fees for parking in such zones, provides that the City Council
may by resolution establish off - street parking meter zones and set
the fees for parking in such zones, and further provides that the
City Council shall by resolution designate the denomination of
coins to be deposited in parking meters, the parking time allowed
following such deposit, and the hours of the day, the days of the
week, and the weeks of the year during which deposits are required
and the meters will be in operation; and
WHEREAS, off - street parking meter zones and regulations
for the operation of parking meters were established by Resolu-
tion No. 6654, Section 5 of which established fees for parking at
parking meters in the off - street parking meter zones; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to change the fee for
parking at parking meters in zones 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 to
twenty -five cents per hour, which necessitates the amendment of
said Section 5;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Section 5 of Reso-
lution No. 6654 is hereby amended to read:
"Section 5. The fees for parking at parking meters
in the zones established by this resolution when the
parking meters are in operation are hereby established
at ten cents per hour in zone 10; twenty -five cents per
hour in zones 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16; and ten cents per
hour for 2 -hour meters and twenty -five cents for any
time up to twelve hours for 12 -hour meters in zone 17."
