A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
GRANT OF-EASEMENT TO.SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.EUISON
C014PANY _FOR CEaTAIN UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL
FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is the owner of
certain property adjacent to Pacific Coast Highway under lease to
the Balboa Bay Club, Inc., on which said lessee has an athletic
facilities building; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company has re-
quested an easement from the City for the installation by it of
underground electrical facilities on said property as hereinafter
described to serve said athletic facilities building; and
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a grant of easement by which the City
would grant to Southern California Edison Company, a corporation,
its successors and assigns, an easement and right of way to
construct, lay, install, use, maintain, alter, add to, repair,
replace, inspect and /or remove, at any time and from time to time,
underground electric lines and communication lines, consisting of
wires, cables, conduits, manholes, vaults, pull bones, markers and
other fixtures and appliances, for conveying electric energy to
be used for light, heat, power, telephone and /or other related
uses, in, on, under and through that certain real property in the
City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows-.
A strip of land 6 feet in width, lying within Lot 171,
Block 54 of Irvinets Subdivision, as per map recorded
in Book 1, page 88, of Miscellaneous Maps in the off°.ce
of the Recorder of said County, the centerline of said
strip being described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the southerly
line of Pacific Coast Highway, 100 feet wide,
with the northwesterly.line of Tract No. 1143,
as per map recorded in Book 36, page 28, of
Miscellaneous Maps, in the office of the Recorder

3.11 of said County; thence, westerly along said south®
erly line of Pacific Coast Highway, a distance of
2' 222 feet to a point located.200 feet measured at
right angles from said northwesterly line of Tract
3 No. 1140, said last mentioned point being the TRUE
POINT OF BEGI14-N ING of this description; thence,
4 southwesterly a.distance of 138 feet, to a point
located 235 feet measured at right angles from
5.I said northwesterly line of Tract No. 1140, said
last mentioned point 'hereinafter referred to as
6 Point °'A".
7 ALSO, a strip of land 6 feet in width, lying within said
Lot 171, Block 54 of Irvine's Subdivision, the north-m
8 easterly line of said.strip being described as follows:
9 Beginning at said Point "A "', thence, northwesterly
at -right angles from said northwesterly line of
10 Tract No, 1140, a distance of 10 feet,
Ill subject to certain conditions as more particularly set forth

12 therein; and
13 WHEREAS,, the City Council has determined that the
14 execution of the grant of easement would be in the mutual interest
15 of the parties concerned;
161 NOT7, THEREFORE9 BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
17 Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said grant of
18 easement on behalf of the City of Newport Beach and deliver the
191 same to the grantee.
