RESOLUTION.NO, 6783
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6725
WHICH ESTABLISHED PARKING FEES AND REGULATIONS
FOR THE USE OF CITY PARKING LOTS
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 6725 the City Council
established parking fees and regulations for the use of
certain City parking lots, including the lot on the Balboa
Peninsula, southerly of Ocean Front at Palm and Washington
Streets, commonly referred to as the Balboa Parking Lot;.And
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is desir-
able to increase the parking fees for the use of the Balboa
Parking Lot and to delete the restriction prohibiting merchants
from requiring shoppers to make a purchase as a condition of
validating their parking slips, which necessitates the amend-
ment of Resolution No. 6725;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that subparagraph b
of paragraph 2 of Resolution No. 6725 is amended to read:
"b. Balboa Parking Lot:
(1) $.50 per hour, with a maximum charge of
$1.00 per day, on Mondays through Fridays,
except on holidays.
(2) $.75 per hour, with a maximum charge of
$1.50 per day, on Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays.
(3) In order to encourage use of the Balboa
Parking Lot by persons shopping in the area, no fee
shall be charged for the first two hours of parking
upon the presentation of a validated parking slip.
Such validation must be by a place of business in
the vicinity of the lot and in accordance with a
validation plan which may be established by the
City Manager."

duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 10th day of June 1968,
by the following vote, to wit:
