A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT THE
• PUBLIC INTEREST, CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUIRES THE ACQUISITION OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO BE USED BY SAID CITY AS
THE SITE FOR A CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX, AND DECLARING
THE INTENTION OF THE CITY TO ACQUIRE SAID PROPERTY
UNDER EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEEDINGS, AND DIRECTING
THE CITY ATTORNEY OF SAID CITY TO COMMENCE AN
ACTION IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING SAID REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, after thorough study and analysis of available
sites for a Civic Center, the City Council of the City of New-
port Beach has selected a site in the Newport Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Newport Beach as follows:
Section 1. The public interest, convenience, and
necessity of the City of Newport Beach and the inhabitants
thereof, require the acquisition and taking of the hereinafter
described real property for use for the purpose of constructing
public buildings thereon.
Section 2. The property to be condemned is hereafter
described as follows:
"That portion of Block 93 of Irvine's Subdivision
in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange,
State of California, as per map filed in Book 1,
page 88 of Miscellaneous Record Maps and Tract
6015 as per map filed in Book 239, pages 28
through 41 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office
of the County Recorder of said County described
as follows:
Beginning at the Southerly terminus of that
certain centerline course for Newport Center
Drive shown as "N 120 59' 27" W 365.00'11 on
a map of Tract 6015 filed in Book 239, pages
28 through 41 of Miscellaneous Maps in the
office of said County Recorder; thence North
120 59' 27" West 215.36 feet along said center-
line; thence North 770 00' 33" East 93.96 feet
to the beginning of a curve concave Southwesterly
having a radius of 300.00 feet; thence Southeasterly
261.07 feet along said curve through an angle
of 49° 51' 39 "; thence South 530 07' 48"
East 360.42 feet to the beginning of a curve
concave Northeasterly having a radius of
• 300.00 feet; thence Southwesterly 228.53
feet along said curve through an angle of
430 38' 47 "; thence North 83° 13' 25" East
486,11 feet to the beginning of a curve con-
cave Southwesterly having a radius of 300.00
feet; thence Southeasterly 192.56 feet along
said curve through an angle of 36° 46' 35 ";
thence South 60° 00' 00" East 128.42 feet;
thence South 300 00' 00" West 716.87 feet to
a point on a non - tangent curve concave North-
westerly having a radius of 790.00 feet a
radial to said point bears South 300 13; 42"
East; thence Westerly 124.40 feet along said
curve through an angle of 9° 01' 20 "; thence
South 780 57' 54" West 321.15 feet; thence
North 440 21' 43" West 317.51. feet; thence North
69° 33' 05" West 625.46 feet to a point of
the centerline of said Newport Center Drive,
said point being on a curve concave North-
westerly having a radius of 800.00 feet a
radial to said point bears South 710 41; 23"
East; thence Northerly 437.04 feet along said
curve through an angle of 310 18' 04" to the
point of beginning.
SUBJECT TO easements, rights of way, and other
matters of record or apparent."
Section 3. The taking and acquiring by said City of
the property hereinbefore described is deemed necessary for the
construction and operation of said public buildings by the City
of Newport Beach and the inhabitants thereof for a municipal
purpose; such use is a public use, and for such public use it
is necessary that the City of Newport Beach condemn and acquire
said property.
Section 4. The City Attorney of the City of Newport
Beach is hereby authorized and directed to commence an action
in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for
the County of Orange, in the name and on behalf of the City of
Newport Beach, against all owners and claimants of the above
described property, for the purpose of condemning and acquiring

said property for the use of said City.
