A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF UNDERGROUND TELEPHONE LINES
TO OCEAN FRONT LIFEGUARD TOWERS, CONTRACT
NO. 1190
WHEREAS, pursuant to the notice inviting bids for work
in connection with construction of underground telephone lines
to ocean front lifeguard towers, in accordance with the plans and
specifications heretofore adopted, bids were received on the
29th day of May, 1969, and publicly opened and declared; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
therefor is Smith Electric Supply, of Stanton, California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the bid of Smith Electric Supply
for the work in the amount of $5,685,00 be accepted and that the
contract for the described work be awarded to said bidder;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract in
accordance with the specifications, bid and this award on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach, and that the City Clerk be directed
to furnish an executed copy to the successful bidder.
ADOPTED this 9th day of jLfte, 1969.
