A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS
TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND KNOWN AS ANNEXA-
TION NO. 64, EAST COAST HIGHWAY BETWEEN CAMEO
SHORES AND CAMEO HIGHLANDS
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has initiated proceed-
ings with the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County
to annex certain unincorporated territory to the City of Newport
Beach; and
WHEREAS, the area proposed to be annexed contains
approximately 4.9 acres of uninhabited territory located entirely
within the State Highway right -of -way on East Coast Highway in
Corona del Mar, designated as Annexation No. 64, East Coast Highway
between Cameo Shores and Cameo Highlands; and
WHEREAS, the State of California is the sole owner of
the subject property and the State has declared a position of no
opposition to this annexation; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 6972 of the City Council
requested that the Local Agency Formation Commission authorize
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to proceed with
subsequent annexation proceedings without further public hearings
or notice; and
WHEREAS, on November 6, 1968, the Local Agency Formation
Commission approved the annexation request of the City of Newport
Beach and further authorized the City of Newport Beach to proceed
with subsequent annexation proceedings without further notice and
public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
hereby elects to proceed with said annexation proceedings
�. without further public notice or public hearings in accordance
with the provisions of Section 54797.1 of the California
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings
relating to annexation have been conducted strictly in accordance
with the requirements of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
• Act of 1939;
follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council hereby resolves as
The annexation to the City of Newport Beach,
California, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to
said City, known as Annexation No. 64, East Coast Highway, between
Cameo Shores and Cameo Highlands, is hereby approved. Said
property is more particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at the most Westerly corner of Tract
No. 3519, as shown on a map Recorded in Book 128,
Pages 18 through 21, inclusive, of Miscellaneous
Maps,Records of Orange County, California, being
a point in the Northeasterly line of Pacific
Coast Highway, as shown on said map, said point
also being the most Westerly corner of 'Cameo
Highlands Annex' to the City of Newport Beach
per Ordinance No. 897 adopted September 28, 1959
by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach;
thence along said Northeasterly line of Pacific
Coast Highway and along the boundary line of the
City of Newport Beach, as described in said
Ordinance No. 897, the following courses: South
58 °38'00" East 1526.88 feet to the beginning of
a tangent curve concave Southwesterly, having a
radius of 2050.00 feet; thence Southeasterly
along said curve, through a central angle of
8011,00", an arc distance of 292.80 feet; thence
South 5027'00" East 330.00 feet; thence leaving
said Northeasterly line and leaving said boundary
line, South 39 °33'00" West 100.00 feet to the
Southwesterly line of said Pacific Coast Highway;
thence North 50 027'00" West along said Southwest-
erly line 330.00 feet to a tangent curve therein,
having a radius of 1950.00 feet; thence North-
westerly along said curve through a central angle
of 8 °11'00 ", an arc distance of 278.51 feet; thence
continuing along said Southwesterly line, North
58 °38'00" West 14.19 feet to the existing boundary
line of the City of Newport Beach, as described in
'Cameo Cliffs Annex' per Ordinance No. 843, adopted
April 14, 1958 by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach; thence continuing along said South-
. westerly line North 58 038'00" West along the North-
easterly line of said Cameo Cliffs Annex 1531.90
feet to the existing boundary line of the City of
Newport Beach, as described in Annexation No. 8,
per Ordinance No. 542 adopted January 21, 1946 by
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach."

2. The boundaries of the City of Newport Beach,
California, be, and the same are hereby altered to include the
territory described herein, the annexation of which is approved
certified copy of this resolution with the Secretary of State.
ADOPTED this 14th day of July, 1969.
