HomeMy WebLinkAbout7025 - Annexation 65 - Arches On-RampRESOLUTION N0. 7025 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND KNOWN AS ANNEXATION NO. 65, THE ARCHES ON RAMP WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has initiated proceed- ings with the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County to annex certain unincorporated territory to the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, the area proposed to be annexed contains approxi- mately 2.49 acres of uninhabited territory located at the northwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Boulevard contiguous to the City of Newport Beach and designated as Annexation No. 65, The Arches On Ramp; and WHEREAS, said State of California is the Sole owner of the subject property and the State has declared a position of no opposition to this annexation; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 6973 of the City Council requested that the Local Agency Formation Commission authorize the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to proceed with subsequent annexation proceedings without further public hearings or notice; and WHEREAS, on November 6, 1968, the Local Agency Forma- tion Commission approved the annexation request of the City of Newport Beach and further authorized the City of Newport Beach to proceed with subsequent annexation proceedings without further notice and public hearings; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby elects to proceed with said annexation proceedings without • further public notice or public hearings in accordance with the provisions of Section 54797.1 of the California Government Code; and WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings relating to annexation have been conducted strictly in accordance with the requirements of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory • Act of 1939; follows: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council hereby resolves as 1. The annexation to the City of Newport Beach, California, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to said City known as Annexation No. 65, The Arches On Ramp, is hereby approved. Said property is more particularly described in that certain legal description attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. 2. The boundaries of the City of Newport Beach, California, be, and the same are hereby altered to include the territory described herein, the annexation of which is approved herein, and incorporated in the City of Newport Beach, California. 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certi- fied copy of this resolution with the Secretary of State. ADOPTED this 14th day of July, 1969. ATTEST: C ty Clerk CE ED AS THE ORI AL .0 CIERK O OP NE P T BEACH DAM l -2- TLW:dh 7/8/69 • RAUB, BEIN, FROST & ASSOCIATES 136 Rochester Street Costa Mesa, California Job No. 10376 July 30, 1968 Page 1 of 2 D E S C R I P T I O N Area at Northwest Corner of Coast Highway and Newport Boulevard to be Annexed to City of Newport Beach All that certain land situated in the State of California, County of Orange, described as follows: That portion of Lot 172 in Block 1 of Irvine's Subdivision, as shown on a Map Recorded in Book 1, Page 88 of Miscellaneous Record Maps, Records of Orange County, California, described as follows: BEGINNING at the most Southerly corner of the land described in Parcel 1 of the Deed to the Presbyterian Hospital of Orange County, a California corporation, Recorded February 8, 1946 in Book 1398, Page 20 of Official Records, being a point in the existing boundary line of the City of Newport Beach, as described in Ordinance No. 558 adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, being also a point on a curve concave Southerly, having a radius of 450.00 feet, a radial line through said point bears South 7 °00'30" West; thence along said existing boundary line and said curve, through a central angle of 19 °51'06 ", an arc distance of 155.91 feet; thence North 26 °34'43" West along said existing boundary line 44.76 feet to the most Northerly corner of the land described in Parcel 1 of the Deed to the State of California, Recorded June 22, 1953 in Book 2524, Page 527 of Official Records; thence leaving said existing boundary line, South 54 °42'28" West along the boundary line of the land described in said Deed to the State.of California 123.87 feet to an angle point therein; thence South 47 °41'29" West 110.55 feet to the most Westerly corner of said land being a point on the Northerly line of the land described in a Deed to the State of California Recorded June 17, 1931 in Book 487, Page 305 of Official Records, said point being the beginning of a tangent curve, concave Southeasterly, having a radius of 450.00 feet; thence Southwesterly along said curve and along said Northerly line and along the Northwesterly line of the land described first in the Deed to the State of California Recorded June 12, 1931 in Book 489, Page 67 of Official Records, through a central angle of 18 °04'25 ", an are distance of 141.95 feet to the True Point of Beginning of the land described in Parcel 2 of the Deed to the State of California Recorded June 22, 1953 in Book 2524, Page 527 of Official Records; thence along the Northerly line of said land, South 70 °47'57" West 108.90 feet to an angle point therein; thence North 86 °13'59" West 201.28 feet to the most Westerly corner of said land being a point on the existing boundary line of the City of Newport Beach as described in Parcel No. 4 of Ordinance No. 683 adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach; • thence along said existing boundary line, the following courses: South 80 °31'50" East 276.03 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave Northerly, having a radius of 1450.00 feet; thence Southeasterly along said curve, through a central angle of 13 °17'10 ", an are distance of 336.24 feet; thence tangent to said curve, North 86 011100" East 46.13 feet; thence North 17 °30'30" East along said existing boundary line 320.56 feet to the Point of Beginning.
