A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF 16
HIGHWAY PATROL CARS THROUGH COOPERATIVE PURCHASE
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to purchase
sixteen (16) new passenger sedan vehicles for use by the Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted for the purchase of
sixteen sedans during fiscal year 1969 -70; and
WHEREAS, the California State Government authorizes
cities to purchase items through the facilities of the State
Department of General Services; and
WHEREAS, considerable economic savings can be realized
by the purchase of certain items through the State Department of
General Services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby authorize the Office of
Procurement, Department of General Services of the State of
California to purchase sixteen (16) California Highway Patrol
sedans for and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach pursuant to
Section 14814, Government Code, and that the Finance Director and

Purchasing Agent of the City of Newport Beach are hereby authorized
and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other
documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach.
ADOPTED this 25th day of August, 1969.
