A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING RATES FOR
TAXICABS
WHEREAS, Section 5.12.100 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that the City Council shall by resolution establish
a schedule of rates applicable to all taxicabs operating in the
City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6537 has heretofore been adopted
establishing said rates; and
WHEREAS, a request for a change in the rates has been
made by the taxicab operator holding a certificate of public
convenience and necessity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing and
considered said application and finds that the following rates
are reasonable and necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes the following
schedule of rates-
50¢ for the first one -sixth mile.
10@ for each additional one -sixth mile.
$7.20 per hour for waiting time and traffic delay.
(This charge shall be prorated for fractional
portions of an hour.)
No charge for additional passengers.
500 service charge for cancellation of taxicab
after cab is dispatched.
No charge for the first 3 minutes after driver
contacts passenger.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 6537 is
• hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED this 10th day of November, 1969.
