A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING ALL OF ITS MEMBERS
TO FILE WRITTEN ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST A
CITY MEASURE
WHEREAS, an election is to be held in the City of
Newport Beach on January 13, 1970, at which there will be sub-
mitted to the qualified electors of said City the following
City measure:
"SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH BE AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDED
LEASE WITH THE BALBOA BAY CLUB WHICH WOULD EXTEND
THE TERM OF THE EXISTING LEASE FROM 28 YEARS TO
55 YEARS ?"
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council, being the legis-
lative body of the City of Newport Beach, hereby authorizes
Doreen Marshall, Lindsley Parsons, Paul J. Gruber, Howard Rogers,
Robert H. Shelton, Donald McInnis, and Edgar F. Hirth, members
of said body, to file written arguments for and against the City
measure set forth in the recital hereof, in accordance with
Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections Code of the
State of California and to change said arguments until and
including the date affixed by the City Clerk after which no
arguments for or against said City measure may be submitted to
her.
ADOPTED this 17th day of November , 1969.
