RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 6911
WHICH ESTABLISHED SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF
MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has adopted Resolution No. 7173 , entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH TO PROMOTE IMPROVED
RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
ITS EMPLOYEES, WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE 'EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE
RELATIONS RESOLUTION'," which designates the City Manager as
the City Representative and authorizes him to determine which
employees shall be classified as management and confidential; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6911, adopted by the City
Council on December 9, 1968, established special categories of
employees; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that since the Employer -
Employee Relations Resolution establishes a new procedure for
determining employee categories, the City Manager will review the
entire subject of which employees should be designated as
management and confidential, and will then take appropriate action
pursuant to said Employer - Employee Relations Resolution; and it
is therefore deemed desirable to repeal said Resolution No. 6911;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that Resolution No. 6911, adopted on
3 ecember 9, 1968, is hereby repealed.
