RESOLUTION NO. .7 2 IS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DETERMINING THAT TOPICS FUNDS
FOR FISCAL 1969 -1970 ARE TO BE ACCUMULATED
WITH THOSE OF FISCAL 1970 -71 FOR USE IN FINANCING
TOPICS STUDIES AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS OF A
MORE SUBSTANTIVE NATURE
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has been advised
by the State of California Department of Public Works that the
City is eligible to receive Federal funds in the amount of
$74,006.00 for the fiscal year 1969 -70 and $72,443.00 for the
fiscal year 1970 -71 under the Urban Traffic Operations Pro-
gram to Increase Capacity and Safety (Topics), pursuant to
the Federal -Aid Highway Act of 1968; and
WHEREAS, the rules regarding the use of TOPICS funds
require each county or city to indicate to the State of
California Department of Public Works how it proposes to use
said funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the City elects to accumulate
the funds available to it for the fiscal years 1969 -70 and
1970 -71, and to combine said funds with another fiscal year's
apportionment for use in financing a more substantive program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council is hereby
directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the State of
0alifornia Department of Public Works.
