A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO
- ' THE CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
7 KNOWN AS THE SHORECLIFFS -CAMEO SHORES TIDELANDS
ANNEXATION NO. 68
WHEREAS, on June 25, 1970, the State Lands Commission,
acting on behalf of the State of California, approved the
offshore boundaries of the proposed annexation consisting
entirely of tide and submerged lands owned by the State, and
as land owner consented to said annexation; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of July, 1970, the City

WHEREAS, on July 22, 1970, the Local Agency Formation
Commission approved the annexation request of the City of
Newport Beach and further authorized the City to proceed with
subsequent annexation proceedings without further notice and
public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby elects to proceed
with said annexation without further public notice or public
hearings in accordance with the provisions of Section 35015 of
the California Government Code;

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach hereby RESOLVES as follows:
1. The annexation to the City of Newport Beach,
California, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous
to said City, known as the Shorecliffs -Cameo Shores Tidelands
Annexation No. 68, is hereby approved; said property is more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the Mean
High Tide Line of the Pacific Ocean with the southeasterly
line of Block 95 of the Irvine Subdivision as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Book 1, page 88 of Miscellaneous
Maps in the Office of the Recorder of Orange County, said
point being an angle point,on the boundary of the City of
Newport Beach as established by Ordinance No. 843, Cameo
Cliffs Annexation of the City of Newport Beach; thence
generally northwesterly along the Mean High Tide Line of
the Pacific Ocean, said line being the boundary of the
City of Newport Beach as established by Ordinance No. 843,
and Ordinance No.. 542, Shorecliffs Annexation, to the
intersection of Block D of Tract 673, Corona del Mar, as
shown on a map recorded in Book 20, Pages 17 and 18 of
Miscellaneous Maps in the Office of the Recorder of
Orange County; thence continuing along said city boundary
south 20° 0' west three miles?` to an angle point as esta-
blished by Ordinance No. 252,-Corona del Mar Annexation,
thence, leaving the city boundary, in a direct line
northeasterly to the point of beginning.
2. The boundaries of the City of Newport Beach are
hereby altered to include the above described territory;
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a
certified copy of this resolution with the Secretary of State;
4. This annexation shall become effective immediately
upon the date of filing of this resolution by the Secretary of
