RESOLUTION NO. 72 9 6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A PROPOSAL
BY THE NEWPORT BEACH CABLEVISION COMPANY,
INC., FOR AN INCREASE IN THE INSTALLATION FEES
FOR CABLE ANTENNA TELEVISION SERVICE
WHEREAS, on April 22, 1968, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 6760 which established
the rates which Newport Beach Community Cablevision, Inc., shall
charge its subscribers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a request for
approval of an increase in the installation fees for custom
installations to provide for a charge of $2 per foot in addition
to the basic installation charge of $14.95, with the total installa-
tion charge not to exceed $75; and
WHEREAS, said proposed increase in the installation fees
which may be charged would apply to custom installations which
are defined as being (1) a length greater than 35 feet, or (2)
where boring or cutting asphalt or concrete is required; and
WHEREAS, Section 5.44.035 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that prior to authorizing the change of any rates
or charges by the holder of the Community Antenna Television
Franchise, the Council shall first adopt a Resolution of Intention
to do so, and fix a time for public hearing for consideration of
said matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach:
1. That a public hearing to consider the request of
Newport Beach Cablevision, Inc., for an increase in the rates
charged for custom installations shall be set for the 9th day
of November, 1970, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., in the Council

Chambers located at City Hall, 3300 Newport Boulevard, Newport
Beach, California.;
- 2. The City Clerk is directed to publish this Resolution
of Intention at least once within 15 days following its adoption
• and to mail a copy of said Resolution to each holder of a Community
Antenna Television Franchise within the City of Newport Beach.
ADOPTED this 12th day of October, 1970.
