A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS
• INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A WATER
LINE EASEMENT AT HOAG HOSPITAL
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant
to the provisions of the "Public Service Easements Vacation Laws"
and all amendments thereto, being Sections 50430, et seq., of the
Government Code of the State of California, does hereby resolve
and declare as follows:
SECTION 1. The public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach to order, the vacation of a certain water line easement in,
over and under that certain real property in the City of Newport
Beach, County of Orange, State of California, described as
follows:
That certain easement for water line purposes granted
to the City of Newport Beach and described in the deed
recorded in Book 2190, Page 395, Official Records of
Orange County, more particularly described as follows:
A strip of land ten (10) feet in width, being give (5)
feet each side of and adjacent to the following described
center line: Beginning at a point in the northerly line
of the parcel of land deeded to the Presbyterian Hospital
of Orange County, California, a California Corporation,
by D. K. Blue and Sabra E. Blue, husband and wife, and
L. G. Goodman and Pearl Goodman, husband and wife,
February 8, 1946, and recorded in Official Records,
Book 1398, Page 20, Records of Orange County, California,
said point of beginning being South 800 59' East, 251.26
feet, from the northwesterly corner of said parcel of
land; thence South 10 45' 04" East 501.03 feet; thence
South 240 15' 09" East 215 feet; thence South 18° 59' 51"
West, to an intersection with the Southwesterly line of
said parcel of land.
Said easement to be vacated is shown on a certain map
entitled "10 -foot wide waterline easement to be vacated at
• Hoag Hospital ", being City of Newport Beach Public Works

Department Drawing No. R/W- 5189 -L, dated December 8, 1970, a
copy of which is marked Exhibit "A" and attached hereto and
• by this reference made a part hereof, and which shall be kept
• on file in the office of the City Clerk as a part of this
resolution.
SECTION 2. The proceedings for the vacation of said
easement are taken pursuant to, and the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach hereby elects to proceed under the
provisions of, the "Public Service Easements Vacation Law"
and all amendments thereto, being Sections 50430 to 50445,
inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3. The Public Works Director of the City of
Newport Beach shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said easement proposed to be vacated, not more than
300 feet apart and not less than three in all, notices of the
vacation of said easement. The notices shall state the passage
of this resolution of intention and the time and place of the
hearing before the City Council of all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation. Said notices shall be
posted at least ten days before the date of said hearing.
SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday,
the ii sH day of 67Aa0aRJ' �)971 , at the hour
of 7:30 o'clock P.M. on said day in the Council Chamber located
in the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach at 3300 Newport
Boulevard, Newport Beach, California, as the time and place
for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation of said easement.

SECTION 5. A notice of the hearing hereinbefore
set, giving the date, time and place of said hearing, shall
be published by the City Clerk in the official newspaper of
the City once each week for at least two successive weeks
prior to said hearing.
ADOPTED this 14th day of December, 1970,
