A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
KNOWN AS ANNEXATION NO. 76, HARBOR VIEW HILLS -
PHASE V
VWHEREAS, on May 26, 1971, the Local Agency Formation

Commission of Orange County approved the proposed annexation to
the City of Newport Beach of that certain territory as hereinafter
described, designated as Annexation No. 76, Harbor View Hills -
Phase V, pursuant to the application filed by The Irvine Company
as one of the owners of the territory to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on May 26, 1971, the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Orange County approved the request of the City
of Newport Beach requesting that the City Council be authorized
to annex said territory without notice and hearing pursuant to
Section 54797.1 of the Government Code, after proof having been
submitted to said Commission that all of the owners of the land
within the territory proposed to be annexed had given their
written consent to such annexation; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings in
accordance with the requirements of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939 have been completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1: The annexation to the City of Newport Beach,
California, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to
said City, known as Annexation No. 76, Harbor View Hills -
Phase V, is hereby approved; said property is more particularly

described as follows:
That portion of Block 97 of Irvine's Subdivision in the
City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of Cali-
fornia, as shown on a map recorded in Book 1, page 88
of Miscellaneous Record Maps in the office of County
Recorder in said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the northwesterly terminus of that certain
course in the southwesterly line of Annexation Number
70, Harbor View Hills, Phase 3, in the City of Newport
Beach, described as having a bearing and distance of
"South 49 026'33" East 1116.84 feet" as described in
Resolution Number 7311 of the City Council of said City
of Newport Beach and approved by the Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission of Orange County, July 8, 1970, said point
being also the most northerly corner of that certain land
described in a deed to Pacific View Memorial Park recorded
in Book 5970, page 522 of Official Records of said Orange
County, California; thence along said southwesterly line
of Annexation Number 70 and the northeasterly and south -.
easterly lines of said land of Pacific View Memorial Park,
the following courses: South 49 °26'33" East 816.84 feet
to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING: thence continuing along
said boundary lines of said land the following courses:
South 49 026133" East 300.00 feet; thence South 21 030158"
East 400.00 feet; thence;South 57 020 "58" East 270.00 feet;
thence South 29 010'29" East 811.09 feet to a point in a
line parallel with and distant northwesterly 565.50 feet .
from the southeasterly line of the westerly one - quarter
of said Block 97; thence along said parallel line South
40 036'28" West 1103.10 feet to the most easterly corner
of that certain land described in a deed to Pacific View
Memorial Park recorded in Book 4518, page 207, of Official
Records of said Orange County, California; thence along
the southeasterly line of said land South 40 036'28" West
645.22 feet to a point distant northeasterly 666.28 feet
along said southeasterly line from the southeasterly
corner thereof; thence leaving said boundary lines North
17 °59'59" East 28.43 feet; thence North 55 009'15" West
96,26 feet; thence North 38 °45'29" West 91.05 feet; thence
North 32 °58'52" West 224.12 feet; thence North 1 016157"
West 137.14 feet; thence North 16 041157 11.East 278.65 feet;

Section 2: The above parcel of property legally
described in Section 1 shall be subjected to taxation after

annexation equally with property within the City of Newport
Beach to pay any indebtedness and liabilities of the City of
Newport Beach outstanding, contracted, authorized, or existing
prior to, or at the time of annexation.
toSection 3: The boundaries of the City of Newport
Beach, California, shall be, and the same are hereby altered
to include the territory described in Section 1 of this
Resolution.
Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby directed to
file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Secretary
of State.
