RESOLUTION NO. 7546
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING DENNIS D. O °NEIL
AS CITY ATTORNEY AND FIXING HIS SALARY
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7222 fixed the salary of the City
Attorney beginning July 1, 1970, at $25,000 per fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the office of City Attorney became vacant on
June 1, 1971, and the City Council appointed Dennis D. O'Neil as
Acting City Attorney, effective on such date; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is now desirous of making a
permanent appointment to this office and has the power and duty to
fix the salary of the City Attorney and to designate the time to be
devoted to the duties of the office in the resolution fixing the
compensation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that DENNIS D. Of NEIL be and he is hereby
appointed as City Attorney of the City of Newport Beach effective
October 13, 1971, at the salary of $23,165.00 per fiscal year for
full =time employment, payable in monthly, semi - monthly, or bi- weekly
installments as is most convenient in the ordinary course of the
preparation of the City's payroll.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 7222 be and
the same is hereby rescinded effective October 13, 1971.
ADOPTED this 12th day of October, 1971.
