A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING AN INTERSECTION
AT WHICH VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO STOP AND
DIRECTING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO ERECT THE
NECESSARY STOP SIGN
WHEREAS, Section 21360 of the California Vehicle Code
provides that local authorities may place and maintain official
traffic control devices to regulate traffic at the intersection
of a highway and a private road or driveway, with the consent of
the owner thereof; and
WHEREAS, installation of a Stop control requiring traffic
on the Park Newport Apartments private driveway at 900 San Joaquin
Hills Road to stop before entering or crossing San Joaquin Hills
Road has been requested and consented to by the Park Newport
Apartments management and The Irvine Company, owner of the land, and
the City Council has determined that it would be desirable to do so;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that the following described location is
hereby designated as an intersection at which vehicles are required
to stop, and the City Traffic Engineer is hereby directed to erect
and maintain a stop sign at said location:
Private driveway (900 San Joaquin Hills Road) at
San Joaquin Hills Road
ADOPTED this 22nd day of November, 1971.
