RESOLUTION NO. 7687
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A CONSULTANT SERVICES AGREE-
MENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
PAUL S_ VENEKLASEN & ASSOCIATES AND MAW -
HINNEY AND LONG IN CONNECTION WITH PHASE I
OF THE NOISE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would
be desirable to develop further studies related to the noise levels
associated with the Orange County Airport, and
WHEREAS, such studies will serve in part to satisfy
State planning requirements for including a noise element as part
of the City's General Plan, and
WHEREAS, Paul S. Veneklasen & Associates, acoustical
consultants, and Mawhinney and Long, real estate appraisers, are
qualified to undertake and complete such studies, and have offered
to perform such consultant services for the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to employ Paul S.
Veneklasen & Associates and Mawhinney and Long as such consultants;
NOW, THEREFORE,* BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that Paul S. Veneklasen & Associates and
Mawhinney and Long are hereby appointed as consultants for the
purpose of undertaking and completing Phase I of the Noise Element
of the General Plan as described above;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk
are hereby authorized to execute an agreement between the City of
Newport Beach and Paul S. Veneklasen & Associates and Mawhinney and
Long for the above consultant services in an amount not to exceed
$17,000.00 at such time as the agreement is approved by the City
as to form and the Community Development Director as to
of services and sufficiency.
