A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING ANNUAL SUMMER
PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON CERTAIN STREETS IN
CORONA DEL MAR BEACH AREA, AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NOS. 6952, 7167 AND 7182
WHEREAS, Section 12.44.150 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that the City Council shall by resolution designate
streets or portions of streets on which the parking or standing of
vehicles is to be prohibited, and shall designate in the resolution
the days of the week and the exact hours during which such
prohibition shall be in effect; and
WHEREAS, the attendance of beach goers each summer
creates traffic congestion problems in the Corona del Mar beach
area, requiring temporary parking restrictions; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution Nos. 6952, 7167 and 7182, the City
Council has provided for parking regulations during past summer
months on certain streets in the Corona del Mar beach area; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be desirable,
and in the public interest, to continue to impose summer parking
regulations in the Corona del Mar beach area on an annual basis,
according to an established pattern of need, as set forth below;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach as follows:
A. Parking shall be prohibited annually between the
hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4 :00 p.m. commencing May 15, and on every
day thereafter until and including the last Sunday in September,
on the following streets or portions of streets:
1. The southerly side of Bayview Drive from
Fernleaf Avenue to Iris Avenue.
. 2. The westerly side of Carnation Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
3. The westerly side of Dahlia Avenue from Ocean
Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.

4. The westerly side of Fernleaf Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
5. The westerly side of Goldenrod Avenue from
Bayview Drive to Seaview Avenue.
6. The westerly side of Heliotrope Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
7. The westerly side of Iris Avenue from Ocean
Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
8. The westerly side of Jasmine Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
9. The westerly side of Larkspur Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
10. The westerly side of Marigold Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
11. The westerly side of Narcissus Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
12. The westerly side of Orchid Avenue from Ocean
Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
13. The westerly side of Poinsettia Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Seaview Avenue.
B. Parking shall be prohibited on Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
commencing on May 15, until and including the last Sunday in
September, on the following portions of streets:
1. The westerly side of Goldenrod Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to Bayside Drive.
2. The westerly side of Heliotrope Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to Bayside Drive.
3. The westerly side of Iris Avenue from Seaview
Avenue to Bayside Drive.
4. The westerly side of Jasmine Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to Bayside Drive.
5. The westerly side of Larkspur Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to Bayside Drive.
6. The westerly side of Marigold Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to the first alley south of East Coast Highway.
7. The westerly side of Narcissus Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to the first alley south of East Coast Highway.
8. The westerly side of Orchid Avenue from Seaview
Avenue to the first alley south of East Coast Highway.

9. The westerly side of Poinsettia Avenue from
Seaview Avenue to the first alley south of East Coast Highway.
10. The westerly side of Goldenrod Avenue from
Ocean Boulevard to Bayview Avenue.
0 C. Resolution Nos. 6952, 7167 and 7182 are hereby
rescinded.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of May, 1972.
