A RESOLUTION OF THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH COMMENDING POLICE CHIEF
B. JAMES GLAVAS UPON HIS INSTALLATION AS
PRESIDENT OF THE CALIFORNIA PEACE OFFICERS
ASSOCIATION FOR THE 1972 -73 TERM
WHEREAS, B. JAMES GLAVAS, Chief of Police of the City
of Newport Beach since 1961, has served with distinction and honor
on various youth, civic and law enforcement organizations and
boards during his career; and
WHEREAS, among other offices held, he is a past president
of the Southern California Juvenile Officers' Association (1959),
California State Juvenile Officers Association (1961), Orange County
Chiefs of Police Association (1967), and the California Chiefs of
Police Association (1971 -72); and
WHEREAS, on.May 23, 1972, Chief Glavas was installed as
President of the California Peace Officers Association for the year
1972 -73, and the City Council wishes to express its appreciation
and recognition of that honor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that it hereby commends Police Chief B. James
Glavas upon his recent installation as President of the California
Peace Officers Association for the year 1972 -73, and expresses its
appreciation on behalf of the community for his time and effort
spent in serving on the various youth, civic and law enforcement
organizations and boards.
ADOPTED this 19th day of June, 1972.
