T 7 17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER CERTAIN ADDITIONAL WORK TO BE DONE IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 54 PURSUANT TO THE IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1911 AND GIVING NOTICE OF • HEARING THEREON WHEN OBJECTIONS TO SAID ADDITIONAL WORK MAY BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, on the 24th day of January, 1972, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 7603 ordering certain work to be done in Assessment District No. 54 pursuant to the Improvement Act of 1911; and WHEREAS, Chapter 8.5, Division 7 of the California Streets and Highways Code, authorizes the City Council to order changes in the work proposed to be done within an assessment district; and WHEREAS, the City Council acting upon the recommendation of the Engineer of Work proposes to order additional work consisting of the addition of approximately six hundred (600) linear feet of alley pavement, plus the reconstruction of two existing alley approaches, in the location hereinafter described; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, AND ORDER as follows: Section 1. The public interest and convenience require and it is the intention to order certain additional work to be done in Assessment District No. 54, consisting of the construction of approximately six hundred (600) linear feet of alley pavement, plus the reconstruction of two existing alley approaches, all located in Block 30, First Addition to Newport Heights. The unnamed alley is parallel with and is located midway between Catalina Drive and Westminster Avenue, and extends from Clay Street to Fifteenth Street. The alley approaches are in Clay Street and in Fifteenth Street. Said proposed additional work is shown on -1- • Sheets 2 and 3 of City of Newport Beach Drawing No. A- 5044 -S, copies of which are on file in the offices of the Public Works Director and City Clerk. Section 2. It has been determined that the estimated cost of said additional work is Seven Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($7,400.00). Section 3. Notice is hereby given that on the 10th day of July, 1972, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, in the City Hall at 3300 West Newport Boulevard, Newport Beach, any person having any objection to the proposed changes may appear before the City' Council and show cause why said changes should not be ordered. Written objections may be filed with the City Clerk by any interested persons at any time prior to the hearing. Section 4. The City Clerk is directed to publish this Resolution of Intention in the Newport Harbor Ensign twice, the first publication being at least ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing; the City Clerk is further directed to mail a copy of this resolution, at least 15 days prior to the hearing fixed therein, to all persons owning real property within said additional territory, whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as known to the Clerk.
