A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF SPECIAL BOND
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON JUNE 6, 1972
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER, as follows:
SECTION 1. That a special bond election was duly
called and regularly held in said City on the 6th day of
June, 1972, at which election there were submitted to the
qualified voters of said City the following propositions, to
wit:
Proposition F:
Shall the City of Newport Beach incur a bonded
indebtedness in the principal sum of $3,560,000 for
the purpose of acquisition of a certain municipal
improvement, to wit: a certain municipal improve-
ment for park and recreational purposes, including
the acquisition of sites and provisions for open
space?
Proposition G:
Shall the City of Newport Beach incur a bonded
indebtedness in the principal sum of $2,425,000 for
the purpose of acquisition of a certain municipal
improvement, to wit: a certain municipal improve-
ment for the development of park and recreational
facilities, including all utilities, furnishings,
and equipment necessary or incidental thereto?
Proposition H:
Shall the City of Newport Beach incur a bonded
indebtedness in the principal sum of $3,000,000 for
the purpose of acquisition of a certain municipal
improvement, to wit: a certain municipal improve-
ment for park and recreational purposes, including
the future acquisition of sites and provisions for
open space?
SECTION 2. That the returns of said election have
been caused to be duly and regularly canvassed by the Orange
County Board of Supervisors, pursuant to Resolution No. 7636,
adopted the 13th day of March, 1972, and all absentee ballots

returned have been canvassed as provided by law; and the Orange
County Registrar of Voters has certified the results to this
City Council; said results show that the votes cast in the
precincts established for said election upon each said proposi-
tion and for and against each said proposition, the absentee
votes cast upon each said proposition and for and against each
said proposition, and the total votes cast at said election for
and against each said proposition and upon each said proposi-
tion; said results are received, attached and made a part
hereof as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 3. That the votes of less than two - thirds of
all the voters voting at said election upon said bond proposi-
tions were cast in favor of the adoption of said bond proposi-
tions, and said bond propositions are hereby declared to have
failed to carry at said election.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall enter on the
records of the City Council a statement of the result of said
election, showing:
(1) The whole number of votes cast in the City;
(2) The measures voted upon;
(3)
The
number of votes given at
each precinct
for
and against each measure;
(4)
The
number of votes given in
the City for
and against each measure.
