A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT .BEACH RELATING TO AN APPLICATION
TO THE CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE
FOR GRANT TO ASSIST IN IMPLEMENTATION OF A
TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM TO PRODUCE LAW
ENFORCEMENT TRAINING AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION
PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice may
consent to review for possible funding the project submitted by
the City of Newport Beach, referred to as "Telecommunications as
a Vehicle for Law Enforcement Training and Community Education
Programs;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Mayor is directed to execute,
on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, the application for grant
for law enforcement purposes; in the event the California Council
on Criminal Justice consents to fund the above project, the City
of Newport Beach agrees to accept the grant and designates its
Mayor to execute on behalf of the City of Newport Beach the contract
for the grant for law enforcement purposes;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City agrees to participate
in the program and provide the required matching funds amounting to
One Thousand Five Hundred and Eighty -Three Dollars ($1,583.00) in
cash and Two Thousand Three Hundred and Fifteen Dollars ($2,315.00)
in in -kind services;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant ongoing law enforcement expenditures.
