A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF PORTIONS OF HOSPITAL ROAD-
WESTMINSTER AVENUE WATER MAIN AND WESTMINSTER
Is AVENUE WIDENING, COMBINED PROJECTS, Contract
No. C -1428
WHEREAS, pursuant to the notice inviting bids for work
in connection with the construction of Hospital Road - Westminster
Avenue water main from Placentia Avenue to 15th Street and
Westminster Avenue widening from North Newport Boulevard to
15th Street, combined projects, in accordance with the plans and
specifications heretofore adopted, bids were received on the
18th day of September, 1972, and publicly opened and declared;
and
WHEREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
therefor is E. L. WHITE COMPANY, INC.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the bid of E. L. WHITE COMPANY,
INC., for the work in the amount of $158,188.07 be accepted, and
that the contract for the described work be awarded to said bidder;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract in
accordance with the specifications, bid and this award on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach, and that the City Clerk be directed
to furnish an executed copy to the successful bidder.
ADOPTED this 25th day of September, 1972.
