HomeMy WebLinkAbout7838 - Police Department ReclassificationRESOLUTION NO. 7838 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 7757, TO PROVIDE FOR RECLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN POSITIONS WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, Section 2.28.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that, upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the City Council shall establish by resolution the classification of positions in city employment and a salary range or rate for each class or position; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7757 dated July 10, 1972, the municipal employee compensation plan for 1972 -73 for the City of Newport Beach was adopted; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the reclassification of the position of Assistant Chief of Police to Police Lieutenant, and the reclassification of the position of one Police Emergency Equipment Dispatcher to Police Administrative Analyst, and it has been determined that the re- commended changes are more compatible with the present organization structure of the Police Department and reflect current needs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that all documents adopted as the municipal employee compensation plan for 1972 -73 for the City of Newport Beach be amended to reflect the following changes: Monthly Budgeted Salary Classification Positions Salary Range Range DELETE Assistant Police Chief 1 52.025 - 56.025 1500 -1824 CHANGE Police Lieutenant 7 47.049 - 51.049 1203 -1462 CHANGE Police Emergency Equipment Dispatcher 6 37.020- 41.020 718- 873 ADD — Police Admininstrative 40 Analyst 1 37.020- 41.020 718- 873 ADOPTED this 10th day of October, 1972.
