A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH NAMING THE ERYTHRINA (CORAL TREE)
THE OFFICIAL TREE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
• WHEREAS, the Parks, Beaches & Recreation Commission
of the City of Newport Beach has recommended that the City
of Newport Beach have an official tree; and
WHEREAS, the Newport Beach Garden Club has sug-
gested that the official tree by the Erythrina (Coral Tree);
and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Beaches & Recreation Commission
concurs with the suggestion of the Newport Beach Garden Club;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach has considered the recommendation and suggestion of the
Parks, Beaches & Recreation Commission and finds that it would
be in the best interest of the City to have an official tree.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby adopt the Erythrina
(Coral Tree) as the official tree for the City of Newport:'Beach.
ADOPTED this 23rd day of April , 1973.
