A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A JOINT
CITY COUNCIL - PLANNING COMMISSION COMMITTEE
TO STUDY THE ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPART-
MENT'S GROWTH POLICY REPORT
• WHEREAS, on May 21, 1973, the City Council and the
Planning Commission held a joint meeting at which time the

Orange County Planning Department's Growth Policy Report
"People, Policy and Growth Report" was discussed; and
WHEREAS, at said meeting it was decided that the
Mayor and the Chairman of the Planning Commission should ap-
point a joint committee to review said Policy Report and
make recommendations to the Council and Commission which can
be approved and forwarded to the County of Orange, Orange
County League of California Cities and the Intergovernmental
Coordinating Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes a joint City
Council - Planning Commission Committee to:
1. Study the Orange County Planning Department's
Growth Policy Report, and
2. Develop and recommend City policy and position
with regard to said report.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said joint committee
shall be comprised of Mayor Pro Tem Howard Rogers and Council-
man Carl Kymla, representing the City Council, and Planning
Commissioners to be appointed by the Chairman of the Planning
Commission.
ADOPTED this 29th day of May , 1973.
