A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT
FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT
NEWPORT CENTER DRIVE EAST - SANTA ROSA
DRIVE, CONTRACT NO. 1475
• WHEREAS, pursuant to the notice inviting bids for
work in connection with the installation of traffic signals
at Newport Center Drive East - Santa Rosa Drive, in accordance
with the plans and specifications heretofore adopted, bids
were received on the 18th of May, 1973, and publicly opened and
declared; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
therefor is Smith Electric Co.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the bid of Smith Electric Co.
for the work in the amount of $49,602.00 be accepted, and that
the contract for the described work be awarded to said bidder;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, subject to the approval
of this award by the Federal Highway Administration, the Mayor
and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a
contract in accordance with the specifications, bid and this
award on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, and that the
City Clerk be directed to furnish an executed copy to the
successful bidder.
