RESOLUTION NO. 8063
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF THE JAMBOREE ROAD POLICE FACILITY TO JOHNSON &
MAPE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, CONTRACT NO. 1514
WHEREAS, pursuant to the notice inviting bids for work in
connection with the Jamboree Road Police Facility, in accordance with
the plans and specifications heretofore adopted, bids were received on
the 10th day of July, 1973, and publicly opened and declared; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
therefor is Johnson & Mape Construction Company; and
WHEREAS, Johnson & Mape Construction Company acknowledges
that under the terms of the construction contract-the City reserves the
right to issue certain deductive change orders to reduce the total
contract costs to less than One Million Dollars; and
WHEREAS, Johnson & Mape Construction Company agrees that the
City retains the option to reinstate any or all deleted items at a later
date based on the original contract costs and prices subject to a project
schedule approved by the City's Architect, City Manager, and the Contractor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach that the bid of Johnson & Mape Construction Company be
accepted, and that the contract for the described work be awarded to said
bidder;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute a contract in accordance with the
specifications, bid and this award on behalf of the City of Newport Beach,
and that the City Clerk be directed to furnish an executed copy to the
successful bidder.
