A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A BUS STOP ZONE ON
THE SOUTHERLY SIDE OF 16TH STREET FROM IRVINE
AVENUE TO SEAGULL LANE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6:00
P.M. AND 11 :00 P.M. ON CERTAIN DATES
• WHEREAS, Section 12.48.100 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code authorizes the establishment of bus zones; and
WHEREAS, athletic events conducted during the months of
September, October, and November at the athletic field of Newport
Harbor High School makes it necessary for numerous busses to stop
on the southerly side of 16th Street from Irvine Avenue to Seagull
Lane; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be
in the public interest to establish a bus zone at this location
during the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 11 :00 P.M. on the days athletic
events are scheduled.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the area of 16th Street
from Irvine Avenue to Seagull Lane is hereby designated as a bus
zone between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 11 :00 P.M. during the
calendar year 1973.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director is
authorized and directed to signify the establishment of this bus
zone by placing appropriate signs and markings in that location.
ADOPTED this 27th day of August , 1973.
