A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DIRECT7R TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS
BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND CERTAIN
CONSULTANTS PREPARING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
• REPORTS FOR THE CITY
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council Policy No. K -3,
which provides in part that the Community Development Department
may employ independent consultants to prepare Environmental
Impact Reports for projects under consideration by the City; and
WHEREAS, it may become necessary in the course of
implementing said policy for the Community Development Depart-
ment to retain numerous consultants over a period of time; and
WHEREAS, Section 421 of the Newport Beach City Charter
provides that the City Council may authorize an officer of the
City of Newport Beach to execute contracts on behalf of the
City; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be
desirable and in the interest of governmental efficiency for
the Community Development Director to execute the consultant
employment. agreements on behalf of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Community Development
Director is hereby authorized to execute contracts between the
City of Newport Beach and consultants preparing Environmental
Impact Reports for the City pursuant to City Council Policy
No. K -3.
