RESOLUTION NO. 8117
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CHANGING THE NAME
OF TORREY PINES DRIVE, BETWEEN DRAKES BAY
DRIVE AND MORRO BAY DRIVE IN SPYGLASS HILL,
TO " GOLETA POINT DRIVE"
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Newport Beach has recommended to the City Council the changing
of the name of a portion of a certain street in the City of
Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Section 34091.1 of the Government Code of
the State of California authorizes the legislative body to
change the name of any city street by adoption of a resolution;
and
WHEREAS, after consideration of said recommendation
it appears that it would be in the interests of the City and
convenient to the public to change the name of Torrey Pines
Drive to "Goleta Point Drive ", as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the name of that certain
portion of Torrey Pines Drive, between Drakes Bay Drive and
Morro Bay Drive in Spyglass Hill (Tract 7386), as shown on
the drawing designated "STREET NAME CHANGE, TORREY PINES DRIVE
TO GOLETA POINT DRIVE ", a copy of which is attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A ", and by this reference incorporated herein
and made a part hereof, be changed to "Goleta Point Drive ".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed
to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of
Supervisors of Orange County, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 34092 of the Government Code.
ADOPTED this 29th day of October, 1973.
