A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING RATES
FOR TAXICABS
• WHEREAS, Section 5.12.100 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that the City Council shall by resolution establish
a schedule of rates applicable to all taxicabs operating in the
City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7095 has heretofore been
adopted establishing said rates; and
WHEREAS, a request for a change in the rates has been
made by the taxicab operator holding a certificate of public
convenience and necessity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing and
considered said application, and finds that the following rates
are reasonable and necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes the following
schedule of rates:
600 for the first one - seventh mile.
10¢ for each additional one - seventh mile.
$9.00 per hour for waiting time and traffic delay.
(This charge shall be prorated for fractional
portions of an hour.)
No charge for additional passengers; five (5) ride
for the price of one.
60,d service charge for cancellation after taxicab
has been dispatched pursuant to call.
No charge for 3- minute waiting period when picking
up passengers
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 7095 is
hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED this 12th day of November, 1973.
