RESOLUTION NO. 8131
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS FAVORABLE
CONSIDERATION OF AND SIGNIFYING ITS PRE-
LIMINARY CONSENT IN PRINCIPLE TO THE ANNEXATION
OF TERRITORY KNOWN AS PACIFIC VIEW MEMORIAL
PARK TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, an application for annexation of a parcel of
land to the City of Newport Beach has been submitted to the
County of Orange, Local Agency Formation Commission by all of
the owners within the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, said annexation proceedings are being held
in compliance with the terms of that certain agreement between
the City of Newport Beach and Pacific View Memorial Park, dated
October 12, 1966, as amended August 24, 1970; and
WHEREAS, the area proposed to be annexed contains
approximately 81.45 acres of unincorporated territory northerly
of the most northern City boundary and easterly of the most
eastern City boundary, an area east of Big Canyon Reservoir
designated as the Pacific View Memorial Park annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has
given notice of its intention to conduct a public hearing on
November 28, 1973, on the proposed annexation to the City of
Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered
the applicant's proposal for annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby expresses its preliminary
approval in principle to the proposed annexation of Pacific View
Memorial Park to the City of Newport Beach so as to enable
further and more detailed study to determine the feasibility of
annexation, and in compliance with the above agreement dated
October 12, 1966, as amended August 24, 1970;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Newport Beach
urges the Local Agency Formation Commission to approve the
application of Pacific View Memorial Park as proponents;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Newport Beach
hereby requests the Local Agency Formation Commission to authorize
the City to proceed with the subsequent Pacific View Memorial
Park annexation proceedings without further notice and public
• hearings pursuant to Section 54797.1 of the California Government
Code.
