RESOLUTION NO. 8139
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING INTERSECTIONS AT
WHICH VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO STOP OR YIELD
AND DIRECTING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO ERECT
NECESSARY STOP OR YIELD SIGNS
WHEREAS, Sections 12.36.010 and 12.36.020 of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that whenever an
ordinance or resolution designates and describes an intersection
at which vehicles are required to stop or yield at one or more
entrances thereto, the City Traffic Engineer shall erect stop
or yield signs at those entrances of such intersection where
a stop or yield is required and every driver of a vehicle shall
stop or yield at such intersection; and
WHEREAS, certain intersections should be designated
as intersections where vehicles are required to stop or yield
at one or more entrances thereto as hereinafter provided;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that each of the following described
locations are hereby designated as intersections at which
vehicles are required to stop or yield, and the City Traffic
Engineer is hereby directed to erect and maintain stop or yield
signs, as required, at each of said locations:
STOP: On North Newport Boulevard at Beacon Street -
Westminster Avenue - Hospital Road access street.
YIELD: North on North Newport Boulevard at
Westminster Avenue.
ADOPTED this 26th day of November, 1973.
