A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING TOWING
CHARGES AND STORAGE RATES FOR OFFICIAL
• POLICE TOW TRUCK SERVICES
WHEREAS, Section 5.15.060 (A) of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that the City Council shall establish
a fee schedule in connection with the operation of "Official
Police Tow Truck Services" in the City of Newport Beach;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing
on the adoption of such a fee schedule; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the following
charges and rates are reasonable and necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes the following
towing charges and storage rates:
TOWING CHARGES. Towing charges shall be based on an
hourly rate according to time actually consumed, and shall not
exceed:
$18.00 for the first hour or fraction there-
after;
$25.00 for the first hour or fraction there-
after when a heavy duty truck is required;
$10.00 additional charge when tow dollies
are needed;
$3.50 charge when the drive shaft must be dis-
connected.
STORAGE RATES. Storage rates shall not exceed:
Passenger cars - $2.00 for each day;
Trucks up to 3/4 ton $2.00 for each day;
Trucks above 3/4 ton - $3.00 for each day;

Motorcycles - $1.00 for each day;
Motorscooters - $1.00 for each day:
Storage rates shall be computed from 12 midnight to
• 12 midnight, based on actual time vehicle is stored.
