RESOLUTION NO. 8144
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
• KNOWN AS ANNEXATION NO. 77, PACIFIC VIEW
MEMORIAL PARK, PHASE II
WHEREAS, on November 28, 1973, the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Orange County approved the proposed
annexation to the City of Newport Beach of that certain terri-
tory as hereinafter described, designated as Annexation
No. 77, Pacific View Memorial Park, Phase II, pursuant to
the application filed by Pacific View Memorial Park, owner
of the territory to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on November 28, 1973, the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Orange County approved the request
of the City of Newport Beach requesting that the City Council
be authorized to annex said territory without notice and hearing
pursuant to Section 54797.1 of the Government Code, after
proof having been submitted to said Commission that all of
the owners of the land within the territory proposed to be
annexed had given their written consent to such annexation;
and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings
in accordance with the requirements of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 have been completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1: The annexation to the City of Newport
Beach, California, of that certain uninhabited territory
contiguous to said City, known as Annexation No. 77, Pacific
• View Memorial Park, Phase II, is hereby approved; said
property is more particularly described as follows:

That portion of Blocks 92, 96 and 97 of Irvine's
Subdivision, in the County of Orange, State of California,
as shown on a map recorded in Book 1, page 88 of Miscel-
laneous Record Maps, in the office of the County Recorder
of said Orange County, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwest 1/4 corner of said
Block 97; thence North 490 23' 25" West, 565.50 feet
to an angle point in the boundary of the City of Newport
Beach as established by Annexation No. 70 per Resolution
No. 7311 of said City, said angle point also being the
TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING of this description; thence
along said boundary North 400 36' 28" East, 366.07 feet
to an angle point in the boundary of the City of Newport
Beach as established by Annexation No. 76 per Resolution
No. 7506 of said City; thence along said boundary the
following courses: North 170 59' 59" East, 28.43 feet;
thence North 55° 09' 15" West, 96.26 feet; thence North
38° 45' 29" West, 91.05 feet; thence North 320 58' 52"
West, 224.12 feet; thence North 10 16' 57" West, 137.14
feet; thence North 160 41' 57" East, 278.65 feet;
thence North 10 58' 54" West, 289.17 feet; thence
North 5° 43' 17" West, 521.60 feet; thence North
2° 55' 15" West, 196.25 feet; thence North 28° 06' 23"
East, 99.77 feet; thence North 410 18' 31" East, 87.86
feet; thence North 460 39' 37" East, 97.62 feet; thence
North 720 22' 40" East, 89.19 feet; thence North
320 18' 23" East, 358.12 feet; thence North 8° 34' 05"
West, 453.69 feet to a point in the boundary of the
City of Newport Beach as established by said Annexation
No. 70; thence along said boundary the following courses:
North 490 26' 33" West, 816.84 feet; thence South 450
20' 36" West, 1017.15 feet to an angle point in the
boundary of the City of Newport Beach as established
by Annexation No. 62 per Resolution No. 6913 of said
City; thence along said boundary South 450 20' 36"
West, 906.32 feet to the northerly corner of that certain
reservoir site described in a deed to said City of
Newport Beach recorded December 20, 1957, in Book 4143,
page 395 of Official Records of said Orange County, and
an angle point in the boundary of the Big Canyon Reservoir
Annexation to said City of Newport Beach as said boundary
was adopted by a Resolution of the Board of Supervisors
of said Orange County, dated December 17, 1958; thence
along the northeasterly and easterly line of said reservoir
site and said boundary the following courses: South
550 19' 05" East, 982.66 feet; thence South 6° 06' 36"
West, 1037.47 feet to an angle point in the boundary of
the City of Newport Beach as established by Annexation
No. 69, per Resolution No. 7130; thence leaving said
easterly line of reservoir site and along said boundary
South 560 01' 39" East, 1100.11 feet to the TRUE POINT
OF BEGINNING of this description.
CONTAINING: 81.45 acres, more or less.
0 Section 2: The above parcel of property legally
described in Section 1 shall be subjected to taxation after

annexation equally with property within the City of Newport
Beach to pay any indebtedness and liabilities of the City of
Newport Beach outstanding, contracted, authorized, or existing
prior to, or at the time of annexation.
• Section 3: The boundaries of the City of Newport
Beach, California, shall be, and the same are hereby altered
to include the territory described in Section 1 of this
Resolution.
Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby directed to
file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Secretary
of State.
