RESOLUTION NO. 8504
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING CERTAIN SIDEWALKS
AS SIDEWALKS ON, -WHICH BICYCLES MAY BE OPERATED,
PURSUANT TO SECTION 12.56.140 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, AND DECLARING ITS TERMS
TO BE EFFECTIVE ON THE DAY THE AMENDMENT TO
SECTION 12.56.140 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE BECOMES EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to designate certain
sidewalks on which bicycles may be ridden pursuant to Section
12.56.140; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines that said sidewalks
are proper sidewalks on which bicycles may be ridden;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the following sidewalks are
designated, pursuant to Section 12.56.140, as those sidewalks in
the City upon which bicycles may be ridden:
1. Bayside Drive - southerly side -- Harbor Island
Drive to Marine Avenue;
Park;
2. Buffalo Hills Park - from Ford Road to Harbor View
3. Campus Drive - southerly side - -Von Karman Avenue
to Teller Avenue;
4.. Cliff Drive - southerly side -- Kings Place to
Dover Drive;
5. Coast Highway - south side -- Avocado Avenue to
Bayside Drive;
6. Coast Highway - southerly side -- Riverside Avenue
to Newport Boulevard;
7. Dover Drive - easterly side - -16th Street to
Westcliff Drive;
8. Dover Drive - westerly side - -from Cliff Drive to
495 feet northerly of the center line of Coast Highway;
9. Eastbluff Drive - westerly side - -from the northerly
Corona del Mar High School driveway to Jamboree Road;
10. Eastbluff Drive - westerly side - -from Backbay Drive
to Jamboree Road;

11. Ford Road - southerly side -- between Jamboree
Road and a point 900 feet east of Newport Hills Drive
West;
12. Harbor View Park Buffalo Hills Park to MacArthur
Boulevard (New);
13. Irvine Avenue - east side -- between Santiago Drive
and University Drive;
14. Irvine Avenue - easterly side--16th Street to
Margaret Drive;
15. Jamboree Road - westerly side- -from Eastbluff
Drive (Ford Road) to Bayside Drive;
16. Jamboree Road - east side - -San Joaquin Hills Road
to Ford Road;
17. MacArthur Boulevard (New) - westerly side -- between
Port Sutton Drive and'Pacific View Drive;
18. MacArthur Boulevard (SH73) - easterly side --
Jamboree Road to Von Karman Avenue;
19. Marguerite Avenue - westerly -- Harbor View Drive
to San Joaquin Hills Road;
20. Newport Boulevard - east side - -from Via Lido
north along southeasterly ramp to Coast Highway;
21. South one -half of sidewalk on Ocean Front between
F Street and McFadden Place and between the westerly line
of the Ocean Front Parking Lot and 36th Street;
22. Riverside Avenue - northerly side - -Cliff Drive
to 150 feet northerly of Avon;
23. San Joaquin Hills Road - south side -- MacArthur
Boulevard (SH73) to Crown Drive North;
24. San Joaquin Hills Road - north side -- Marguerite
Avenue to 700 feet westerly;
25. San Joaquin Hills Road - north side -- Jamboree
Road to Big Canyon Drive (west);
26. Santa Barbara Drive - southerly side -- Jamboree
Road to Newport Center Drive West;

27. Spyglass Hill Road - easterly side - -San Joaquin
Hills Road to E1 Capitan Drive;
28. Von Karman Avenue - easterly side -- MacArthur
Boulevard (SH73) to Campus Drive.
_ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of this
1W Resolution shall take effect only if and on the day the amendment
to Section 12.56.140 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code,
authorizing City Council designation of certain sidewalks for
bicycle riding, becomes effective.
