RESOLUTION NO. 8596
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING EXTENSION OF AN
EXISTING BUS ROUTE TO CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY,
LONG BEACH
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transit District presently
operates a bus system serving the residents of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transit District provides
bus service on Pacific Coast Highway from San Clemente and terminat-
ing in Seal Beach; and
WHEREAS, the extension of Bus Route 1 to California
State University, Long Beach, would greatly improve the bus service
for all residents in Orange County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby request the Orange County
Transit District to extend Route 1 northerly to the California
State University, Long Beach.
