A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE STATE DEPART-
MENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO TRANSFER FUNDS
APPROPRIATED FOR THE CORONA HIGHLANDS TOT LOT
ACQUISITION TO THE CLIFF DRIVE PARK REDEVELOP-
MENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council has established a priority
list of projects to be funded by the proceeds from the State
Park Bond Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, said list includes (1) the Tot Lot Acquisi-
tion in Corona Highlands; (2) Cliff Drive Park Redevelopment;
(3) Bayside Drive Park Development; and (4) Balboa Island
Church Site Development; and
WHEREAS, the amount of money appropriated for the
acquisition of the Tot Lot in Corona Highlands is insufficient
to purchase an appropriate tot lot site; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the funds
earmarked for the purchase of a tot lot in Corona Highlands
could better be utilized in connection with the redevelopment
of Cliff Drive Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby requests the State Department
of Parks and Recreation to transfer funds appropriated from the
State Bond Act of 1974 for the acquisition of the tot lot in
Corona Highlands to the Cliff Drive Park Redevelopment Project.
