RESOLUTION NO. 8945
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY
ASSESSOR TO FURNISH AN ESTIMATE OF THE ASSESSED
VALUATION OF PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH FOR FISCAL YEAR 1977 -1978
WHEREAS, Section 27421 of the California Government
Code provides that the County Assessor who is designated to
perform the duty of assessing property for a local taxing
jurisdiction shall, upon request of the governing body of such
jurisdiction, furnish not later than May 15th of each year an
estimate of the assessed valuation of property within such
jurisdiction for the succeeding fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, said estimate shall contain estimates of
the total of each of the items contained on the assessment roll,
as well as the estimated total valuation; and
WHEREAS, said estimates would assist the City of
Newport Beach in preparing the 1977 -1978 Fiscal Year Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to
California Government Code Section 27421, the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby requests the Orange County
Assessor to furnish an estimate of the assessed valuation of
real property located within the City of Newport Beach as
hereinabove provided.
