A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE
• NEWPORT BEACH THIRD YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOP-
MENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach has held two public hearings onthe third year Block
Grant Program; the first on November 8, 1976 and the second
on December 13, 1976; and
WHEREAS, the first and second year Block Grant
Program included partial payment on the Senior Citizen's Center
land acquisition project at 5th & Marguerite Avenues and
support for the Community Development Citizens Advisory
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is
in the best interest of the City of Newport Beach to continue
to participate in the Block Grant Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby approve the third
year Block Grant Application,including the final payment on the
senior citizens center property at 5th & Marguerite Avenues,
and if the eligible funding level permits, certain improvements
to this property, and staff and material support for the City's
Community Development Citizens Advisory Committee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the
City of Newport Beach is hereby authorized to execute the third
year Block Grant Application on behalf of the City of Newport
Beach.
ADOPTED this 13th day of December 1976.
